College student develops sand vehicle

Rs30,000 spent on producing four-wheel automobile

NOORPUR THAL:

A skillful third-year student of Noorpur Thal Degree College has developed a four-wheeler that travels 20 kilometers from a litre of petrol.

The vehicle which was produced in one and a half months has the capacity of accommodating two people and has been specially designed for driving on sand.

Chaudhry Muhammad Asif, the student belonging Pelovense area, said, “I worked hard to create this vehicle. It was just an idea in my head. It took me more than a month to develop the automobile.“ He revealed that he used a 70cc engine to power the vehicle.

“Only Rs30,000 was spent in producing the vehicle,” he proudly stated.

The vehicle, named ‘Uran Khatola’ by the youth, can be easily driven on the road as well as in the rough and sandy terrain. He maintained that his skills are God-gifted and he intends to develop and use these further.

The principal of the college, Prof Abdul Ghafoor Malik, congratulated him and expressed hope that Mohammad Asif would achieve more in the near future and make the country and the region of Thal proud.

Appreciating the feat of Muhammad Asif, a local school director, Malik Umer Farooq, said the land of Pelovense has produced many talented people who have made Pakistan famous in the world.

“This achievement of Asif will boost passion for inventing things among other youth of the area.”
