6 dead, 820 injured in accidents

486 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals of the province

LAHORE:

At least six people passed away, whereas 820 were injured in 723 road traffic crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of them, 486 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals of the province, whereas 334 victims of minor injuries were treated on the spot. An overwhelming majority (69%) of the accidents involved motorcycles. Further analysis shows 337 adult drivers, 32 underage drivers, 103 pedestrians and 386 passengers were among the victims of the accidents. Moreover, statistics reveal that 174 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 179 persons, placing the provincial capital on the top of the list, followed by 78 RTCs in Faisalabad with 85 victims and Multan with 65 RTCs and 68 victims. A total of 826 victims were affected by the road traffic crashes, including 133 females.
