The irrigation department claimed to have arrested a person over water theft and seized material used in the offence during a raid on Thursday. Rajan Canal Division Executive Engineer Hassan Murtajiz along with his team conducted raids in Barera Dastia area and arrested Kazim Abbas for stealing water from the canal. The officer got registered an FIR against the accused at Fazalpur police station under sections 70 and 73-A of Canal and Drainage Act. The team also seized material used in water theft during the raid. Speaking on the occasion, Murtajiz said that strict action was being taken against outlaws involved in water theft.
