The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) dealt with 359 cases in past two weeks and seized drugs, illegal weapons and looted valuables. PHP spokesperson Rauf Gilani said on Thursday that officials of the service not only offered help to the road users but also played a vital role in the eradication of crime.
He said that under the supervision of SP PHP Zubaida Parveen, the officials had been conducting daily operations in their areas. He said the PHP Multan region had seized a rifle, eight guns, 35 pistols, rounds, 2,094 litres of liquor, 12.343kg of hashish, 240 grammes of heroin and 84kg of hemp during the last two weeks. He maintained that officials had recovered a snatched motorcycle worth Rs48,000, Rs2,450 cash and three batteries.
