The Young Vaccinators Association (YVA) ended their protest outside the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday after the Sindh health secretary assured them their demands would be approved.
Vaccinators from Karachi and other parts of Sindh had been protesting for the payment of salaries and their promotion for the past two days.
According to the vaccinators' joint action committee, the Sindh government had accepted two of their demands, which included regularisation of 58 vaccinators and the payment of salaries to 1,300 vaccinators.
They said that the government had sought a two-day extension for the approval of the rest of their demands, including the clearance of arrears of nine months salaries of the vaccinators from West, South and Korangi districts and their promotion to grade 9.
The committee members maintained that the health secretary had assured them of the approval of their demands soon, adding that if the demands were not met, they would enter the red zone and march towards the Chief Minister House.
They further stated that they had ended the protest for now but vaccination centres would remain closed until their demands were approved.
