An alleged member of a Lyari gang, Shahid Cheena alias Shaho, was arrested by the Civil Lines Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) from Baldia Town on Friday. A pistol and grenade were confiscated from his possession. According to the CTD, Cheena had been a member of the Umar Kachi group and was a close aide of Kachi’s, even being in charge of all of his affairs. They further stated that the suspect had murdered five people, including a political opponent, in separate incidents between 2008 and 2013. According to a notification, Cheena has been nominated in cases for several murders, attempted murders and illegal weapons. The CTD expects more confessions from him during interrogation.
