ISLAMABAD:

A design vetting committee of the apex civic agency in the federal capital on Thursday approved designs of seven government and commercial buildings in the city.

In a statement on Thursday, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) said that its Design Vetting Committee met at the authority’s headquarters, with the Planning and Design Member in the chair.

The committee reviewed 12 design proposals. It approved seven design proposals but rejected four proposals due to shortcomings. One proposal was not considered because the applicant failed to attend the meeting.

Among the design proposals approved were for the building of the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, in Sector H-11/2. Other designs pertained to residential apartment complexes and a hotel.

A CDA official said that the meeting was held in line with the government’s plan to revive economic and construction activities in the federal capital.
