Balochistan Health Secretary Dostain Jamaldini said creating awareness is necessary to prevent and eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) from the province while the government is providing free treatment to the patients. “The provincial TB control programme is investing resources and facilities for the treatment of the patients. Besides, the state-of-the-art Provincial Reference Laboratory at Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital will assist in testing patients of TB and coronavirus,” said Jamaldini while talking to reporters during his visit to the laboratory set up by TB Control Programme at the hospital on Sunday. The health secretary was accompanied by Dr Ahmed Wali and Senior Law Officer Hidayatullah Khan during his visit. Jamaldini lauded the facilities available at the laboratory for conducting tests of the patients and maintained the presence of such resourceful facility would help in diagnostic tests of TB in the province. He added the provincial government was utilising all available resources to provide health facilities for TB patients across Balochistan and making the treatment accessible to the patients.
