MULTAN:

Commissioner Shanul Haq, while reviewing performance of deputy commissioners of all four districts of Multan, ordered to expedite action against artificial inflation and hoarding on Tuesday. He stated steps should be taken to curb profiteering. Price control committees must improve their performance and shopkeepers must display price lists. “District government officials should meet these culprits with iron hands.” He was briefed by the DCs that price control magistrates had conducted 2,118 raids in a single day of the current month. Profiteers and hoarders were reportedly fined Rs100,000 collectively.
