Police seized 12,254 kites

Lahore DIG says we have also extended cooperation with the district administration for crackdown on kites factories

Police, during action against kite manufacturers and kite flyers, seized as many as 12,254 kites in the provincial capital over the last month. Police, during the crackdown against kite flying, also seized 344 pellets, 789 merchandise and 430 strings from kite makers and flyers. Lahore DIG Operations Ashfaq Ahmad Khan said that we have also extended cooperation with the district administration for crackdown on kite making factories without any discrimination. “So many young boys have lost their lives in this dangerous play of kite flying.” He further said that police officers would ensure the ban on kite flying in their respective areas at any cost. He directed all officers concerned to take strict action against kite flying as well as selling and manufacturing of kites. The DIG added that kite flyers were being caught through drone technology in densely populated areas. “Parents should also play their role to discourage their children from involving in such a dangerous activity to avoid the loss of precious lives.”
