Covid-19 claims 27 more lives in Punjab

Total cases exceed 81,310 after registration of over 1,020 new patients in last 24 hours

The coronavirus disease claimed 27 more lives in the province over the last 24 hours. The total number of Covid-19 cases in the province also exceeded 81,310 after registration of more than 1,020 new patients in the last 24 hours.

According to a spokesperson for Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department on Sunday, the total number of deaths caused by the disease in the province was over 1,870.

The health department confirmed that 442 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the provincial capital, two new cases in Nankana Sahib, one in Kasur, 10 in Sheikhupura, 114 in Rawalpindi, nine in Jhelum, two in Attock, two in Chakwal, 22 in Gujranwala, 15 in Sialkot, three in Khanewal, 60 in Gujrat, seven in Mandi Bahauddin, 53 in Multan, 61 in Vehari and 48 new cases in Faisalabad.

Moreover, 10 new cases were reported in Toba Tek Singh, one in Jhang, nine in Rahim Yar Khan, six in Sargodha, 36 in Bhakkar, one in Khushab, 15 in Sahiwal, one in Rajanpur, one in Chiniot, 13 in Muzaffargarh, 10 in Mianwali, 30 in Bahawalpur, 12 in Bahawalnagar, 16 in Dera Ghazi Khan, four in Okara and two new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Pakpattan district during the 24 hours.

The Punjab health department had conducted more than 533,040 tests for Covid-19 so far, while at least 44,671 patients have recovered in the province.
