Authorities pay tribute to health professionals

Govt officials, civil society mark 100 days of national resolve in fighting the pandemic

HYDERABAD:

Marking 100 days of national resolve in the fight against coronavirus on Saturday, government officials and civil society representatives visited hospitals facilitating Covid-19 patients in Hyderabad.

Paying tribute to the health workers and presenting them with bouquets, the district administration also distributed masks among the law enforcement personnel. A signature wall was also placed at Haider Chowk to enable people to pay homage to healthcare workers.

Hyderabad commissioner Muhammad Abbas Baloch and deputy commissioner (DC) Fuad Ghaffar Soomro visited Liaquat University Hospital, where they met doctors and paramedics fighting the pandemic.

"In these challenging times, the health workers who have risked their lives to save the lives of coronavirus affectees deserve praise and recognition," said Baloch, asking the doctors, nurses and paramedics to persevere in their endeavour to save the lives.

Earlier, at a ceremony in the DC office, the authorities also distributed appreciation certificates to health officials Dr Kazim Jatoi, Dr Jamshed and others, along with the revenue board staff.

Bouquets were also presented to the doctors and staff at the district health office, while the officials also visited Kohsar Government Hospital to express gratitude for the services of health workers.
