The joint investigation team (JIT) report on notorious Lyari gangster Uzair Baloch does not mention anyone from the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership, including Asif Ali Zardari or Faryal Talpur, claimed Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab on Friday.
Addressing a press conference, he stated that the JIT pertaining to Baloch, as well as those involving PPP leader Nisar Morai and the Baldia factory fire incident would be published on the home department's website on Monday.
"Instead of providing answers about himself and Prime Minister Imran Khan, [Federal Marine Affairs Minister] Ali Zaidi is concerned about the JIT reports," he said, referring to Zaidi's demands that they be made public. "These are secret documents and can only be revealed to the public after complete investigation."
Referring to allegations that Zardari and Talpur had given Baloch orders, Wahab added that false statements had always been made about the PPP leadership, challenging Zaidi to either prove his allegations or resign.
Meanwhile, in a separate press conference, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Haleem Adil Sheikh expressed the belief that the PPP would release a "fake report" about Baloch.
"They [the PPP] have already said that releasing the JIT report posed a security risk," he pointed out, adding that the party's support of Baloch was an "open secret."
