Korangi Police recovered late Monday night a one-and-a-half-year-old boy, Hunain Ishtiaq, who was kidnapped outside his house in Shah Faisal Colony, and arrested the man accused of his abduction as well as three others on charges of buying the child.
According to Korangi Police spokesperson, Hunain's father, Ishtiaq, had lodged a complaint of his son's abduction following which they constituted a special team to search for him and later, on a tip-off, carried out a raid in Mianwali Colony to nab the suspected kidnapper, Mir Khattab Shah.
Shah revealed to police during interrogation that he kidnapped Hunain in greed of money and sold him off to a woman he identified as Shahnaz, a resident of Korangi, for Rs20,000, the spokesperson said, adding that police then arrested Shahnaz on Khattab's indication and were told that she had handed over Hunain to a couple, Babar and Shahbana.
On Shahnaz's indication, police conducted a raid, arrested Babar and Shabana and recovered Hunain.
Meanwhile, a case was registered against Shah, from whose possession police claimed to have found Rs11,000 and weapons.
