Counter-terrorism: Six militants killed in Orakzai

Militants are battling troops in the northwest and have destroyed several hundred schools.

ORAKZAI/KHYBER:
Pakistani artillery killed six militants in an attack on their stronghold after a landmine blast wounded a soldier on patrol in Orakzai, government official Nauman Khan said.


However, the death toll could not be independently verified. Meanwhile, militants blew up a government boys’ primary school in the Bara district of Khyber Agency, but there were no casualties, security officials said. Militants are battling troops in the northwest and have destroyed several hundred schools as part of a campaign to target government installations and security forces.
