KARACHI: All legitimate concerns of industrialists, including the load-shedding of electricity and gas, must be resolved immediately by the federal government, insisted Sindh Industries and Commerce minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo on Friday.

Taking notice of protests by industrialists against the constant power outages across Sindh, the minister claimed the Sindh government stood shoulder to shoulder with them.

Terming the protests against load-shedding the democratic right of industrialists, Dharejo held firm that Prime Minister Imran Khan should take notice of this grave situation. He demanded that the Centre address the concerns of the industrialists so that they may focus on their businesses, which would in turn help create jobs for the people of Sindh.

Dharejo further maintained that the continued load-shedding was adding insult to injury given the difficulties already being faced by businessmen due to coronavirus.

"In such a difficult situation, if relief is not provided to the industrialists, things may become more serious," he claimed, adding that though the provincial government was taking their issues very seriously, they could only be dealt with at the federal level.
