Ashraf’s children Sadia, Shiza and two-month-old Abu Bakr passed away in the incident of roof collapse whereas his wife and four other children were severely injured in the same accident.
Neighbours called the rescue services to the site. A Rescue 1122 team pulled the injured out of the debris and shifted them to a nearby hospital wherein they are undergoing treatment.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Usman Ali, Additional DC Shah Mir Iqbal and Depalpur Assistant Commissioner Khalid Siyal paid a visit to the injured at the hospital.
Usman Ali directed the hospital management to provide the best medical facilities to the injured woman and her children.
He also promised all possible help to the affected family.
Police also reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported and helped pulling the injured out of the debris.
The area residents are grieving the loss of three innocent lives and the local market remained shut to mourn their demise.
Meanwhile, a boy named Amin, who was working in the fields, was killed by lightning in the area of Malho Sheikhu village near Okara.
Rescue 1122 handed over Amin’s dead body to the heirs after completing formalities.
