Sushant Singh Rajput’s final autopsy report confirms death by hanging

Eradicating suspicions of murder, it says there were no struggle marks or external injuries to indicate foul play

Sushant Singh Rajput's final autopsy report has arrived and contrary to speculations made by his family and fans, it proves that he was not murdered.

Submitted to the Mumbai Police, the report deems ‘asphyxia due to hanging’ as the cause of Rajput's death, as reported by India.com. A team of five doctors has analysed the report and signed the document. The previous postmortem report was signed by three doctors.

However, Rajput's viscera report is still awaited. The Mumbai Police has written to the Maharashtra forensics department, requesting to expedite the process on a priority basis. The final autopsy report says there were no struggle marks or external injuries on the actor’s body. His nails were also clean and the death happened due to suicide and no other foul play.

According to the Mumbai police, a total of 23 people have provided statements for Rajput's suicide case. The actor’s Chartered Accountant, Sanjay Sridhar, is the 23rd person who will be questioned on Wednesday.

The statements of his father, three sisters, Siddharth Pithani (his friend and creative content manager), Keshav (his cook), Mohd Shaikh (the keysmith), Shakeel Hussain (the keysmith's brother), Uday Singh Gauri (his business manager), Radhika Nihalani (his PR manager), Kushal Zaveri (director of his first serial and manager), Rhea Chakraborty and Mukesh Chhabra have been recorded so far, according to India Today.

Mumbai Police also clarified that the CCTV cameras of Rajput’s building were working and his black Labrador Fudge is alive. At the time of the incident, he was in another room.

Rajput was found dead on this sixth-floor of his Bandra apartment in Mumbai on June 14, 2020. The 34-year-old actor was suffering from depression and was also undergoing treatment.
