PM Imran to receive preliminary report of PIA crash today

French investigation team has also handed over their report to PIA officials

ISLAMABAD: The preliminary report of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) May 22 crash will be given to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, exactly a month after the tragedy.

The report will be submitted to the premier by the Aviation Division. The crash claimed 97 lives and two passengers miraculously survived.

 

A high-level meeting was held at the Aviation Division in which secretary aviation, director-general civil aviation and other officials were present.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of the Aircraft Accident and Investigation team, while the head of the investigation team, Air Commodore Usman Ghani, presented the report of the aircraft's crash

Meanwhile, the French investigation team also prepared a report after decoding the black boxes and handed it over to PIA officials.

Earlier in May, PM Khan an ordered an investigation into every aspect of the crash whereas the Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan had announced that those responsible would be brought forward after a transparent investigation into the crash.

The premier  for reports of all past air accidents in the country to be made public to make people aware of the facts regarding the incidents

PIA passenger flight PK-8303 crashed on May 22 near Karachi Airport. Only two passengers survived the plane crash which had 99 people on board.
