The hype around popular Turkish drama, Diriliş: Ertuğrul, doesn't seem to slow down anytime soon.

The show has sparked a debate among the industry insiders, as some support the airing of the show on the state-run channel, while others opposed the same.

However, the cultural exchange among the two countries has always been friendly. Many of the show's stars have expressed their love and gratitude for Pakistani fans and wished to visit the country soon as well.

There have been few tributes for Diriliş: Ertuğrul, but this one could easily take the cake.

Hadiqa Kiani took to social media a couple of days ago that she has something special in the pipeline. "Something very very special coming soon," the Boohe Baariyan singer wrote.

Now, Kiani has shared a remastered version of one of the Turkish song she had sung at an Opera house.

"In 2005, I had the honour of singing the Turkish song Sen Ağlama at the AKM Opera House," she tweeted. "Today, I have remastered that song as a tribute to series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, Sezen Aksu and to the people of Turkey."

She went on to add, "May our love and bond be forever strong."

"The love between Turkey and Pakistan is unlike the love of any other country," the singer'ss team shared in a statement.

The statement went on to reveal that Kiani’s maternal ancestors are from İzmir, Turkey. "She has had an affinity for the country since her childhood. As a child prodigy, Kiani represented Pakistan in the International Children's Festival in Turkey and as an adult in 2005 she returned to the great country to once again represent Pakistan at the iconic Atatürk Cultural Center and Opera House," it further read.

"The biggest surprise for the audience was said to be when Kiani sang Sen Ağlama (Turkish song of Living Legend Sezen Aksu) to a standing ovation from the audience. She told the audience that as Turkey stood beside Pakistan in good and bad times, she wanted to convey the love of Pakistani people for the Turks," the statement continued.

Speaking about the success of Diriliş: Ertuğrul in Pakistan, it said, "Now in 2020, a new milestone in the relationship between Pakistan and Turkey was cemented by the mammoth success of Ertuğrul in Pakistan and we thought of no better time to pay a public tribute to the people of Turkey by officially releasing Hadiqa’s original performance of Sen Ağlama."

This is the first time a Pakistani singer has sung in the Turkish language but hopefully, it won’t be the last.
