Sheikh lashes out at CM for ‘baseless allegations’

Says federal government has provided assistance of Rs60 billion to Sindh's people

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has levelled baseless allegations against the federal government in the post-budget press conference, claimed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh.

In a video statement released on Thursday, he argued that the CM should talk about what his party had done in the last 12 years of its governance in Sindh, adding that Shah had been holding key departments for the last seven years and he was behind all corruption scandals in the province.

According to the PTI leader, the federal government has provided assistance of Rs60 billion to Sindh's people, while the Pakistan Peoples Party had only given them poverty and deprivation.

He pointed out that Shah had claimed that the provincial government was running the hospitals efficiently, though 111 public health facilities had been given to the NGOs over the last 12 years. He added that money was also given to these NGOs without any audit.

Addressing the issue of locusts, he claimed that the Sindh government had purchased 40 vehicles and only six spray machines to counter the pests.
