New virus helpline being set up at SHME

Minister reviews training of 246 support staff member

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said  another helpline was being set up at Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education (SHME) Department to facilitate the families of the Covid-19 patients.

She expressed these views while chairing a meeting at the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education department and also visited the Expo Centre Field Hospital on Tuesday.

The minister reviewed the status of new and admitted patients, treatment, medicines and services available for the patients at different hospitals.

The minister said to facilitate the families of the Covid-19 patients, another helpline is being set up at the SHME Department.

“The staff of this helpline will work in close collaboration with the staff of central helpline,” the minister said.

“The current situation of treatment and patients is under control in Punjab,” she said.

“On Tuesday, lockdown restrictions will be enforced in selected areas of Lahore and we are striving hard to streamline and improve services for patients,” said Dr Rashid.

Moreover, Dr Rashid visited the Expo Centre Field Hospital and reviewed the training of the 246 support staff members of Rescue 1122.

The minister addressed the participants and said that the 246 support staff will look after the corona patients at Mayo Hospital and the PKLI.
