This was confirmed by Karachi central jail senior superintendent Muhammad Hassan Sahito.
Baloch was shifted after the Pakistan Peoples Party-led Sindh government raised security concerns, following which a notification was issued by the home department.
As per the notification, Baloch's presence at the central jail had resulted in security threats at the prison and hence, the jail authorities were directed to shift him to Mitha Ram Hostel. The notification explained that following Baloch's transfer, administrative affairs of the sub-jail were to be managed by jail authorities while police and Rangers personnel would be responsible for its security.
Baloch is booked in over 50 cases pertaining to murder, terrorism, extortion, kidnapping and other heinous crime. He was handed over to law enforcement agencies soon after his arrest and was recently sentenced to life imprisonment.
