Actor Nadia Jamil, who is known for raising her voice against child abuse time and time again, is once again at the forefront of the fight.

The Damsa actor, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, took to Twitter to address the recent, inhumane, murder of Zohra Shah - a young girl who was killed by her employers for setting a bird free.

Addressing the Prime Minister, Imran Khan, Nadia wrote, "Why are there still children working for paid labour in Pakistan? Imran Khan, I voted for Riyasate Madina. I voted for a promise of child protection."

She went on to add, "As a child worker myself I will not lose hope! I have been asking to be heard for years. There are simple steps we can take to reach our goal!" She then shared how there needs to be a system set in place to make things better.

"Child protection can always be better in all countries, because there will be flawed, cruel people no matter what we do, who manage to hurt children," said Nadia

"But we should still have a system in place that children can rely on to protect them in all ways. Let it not be a hopeless situation! Speak!" she added, concluding her stance.

Zohra's murder has sparked a social media movement of sorts with countless celebrities including, Osman Khalid Butt, boxer Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom etc. raising their voice to demand justice for her.

Here's hoping that the relevant authorities take swift action and the killers are dealt with for the murder of an innocent child.
