Attock reports 16 more Covid-19 cases
Number of infections in the city rises to 219
ATTOCK: The number of confirmed novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Attock rose to 219 after 16 new cases were reported in the district over the past 24 hours. In an official statement on the pandemic in Attock, the district health authorities confirmed that of the 16 new cases, seven were confirmed in Attock city, five in Pindigheb and four in Fatehjang.
Attock District Focal Person for Covid-19 Dr Asif Arbab Niazi said that the number of suspected cases has also increased in the district to 2,544 on Sunday. He added that they have screened as many as 6,126 people so far in the district.
He added that the test results of as many as 229 suspects are still awaited.
Of those who have tested positive, he said that only 13 remain under treatment at different hospitals and quarantine centres of the district and all were in a stable condition.
So far, he said that 61 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the district.
Responding to a question, he said that 106 positive patients are quarantined at their homes while 16 patients, including 15 migrant workers who returned from the UAE, are in different quarantine centres.
To another question on active cases, he said that in Attock city, there are 57 active cases, of which five are in hospitals while 52 are isolated at home. In Hassanabdal, there are 19 active cases, of which three are hospitalized and 16 are at home. In Hazro, 18 active cases are present of which three are hospitalized and 14 are isolated at home and one at a quarantine centre. Similarly in Pindigheb, 17 active cases are present, including three in hospital and 12 at home.
