The Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench will take up a petition - pending for the last five years - against a 2003 ban imposed by the federal government on Hizbut Tahrir Pakistan (HuT), after Eid.
The petition was filed in early 2006 challenging a notification of the interior ministry issued on November 11, 2003. The notification said HuT was involved in sectarian, militant and terrorist activities in the country.
A division bench of the high court comprising Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik and Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan has now put off the hearing of the petition filed by HuT spokesperson Naveed Butt till September 12 saying the matter needs “serious consideration” and would be dealt with after Ramazan.
HuT has maintained that the notification issued against it was illegal and should be set aside “as members of the political organisation and their families are being harassed, detained and framed in fake criminal cases”.

This is about implementing Islam in the muslim world. This is not about 'versions'. This is the month of Ramadaan where the Quran was revealed. We listen to it, read it,kiss it yet it is not established as a source for the constitution which is why Allah (swt) revealed this book...to solve the problems of life, state and society.

The ban was but a product of a "Notification".. doesn't that say enough? It is done with Notifications when there is no evidence and when only mind-sets--afraid ideologies--are at work.
Why is this peaceful group banned?

The governments have been running scared since this artificial ban. And the reasons...sectarian, militant, terrorist...? Absolutely ridiculous! The hizb is an islamic party not a sect and prohibits any form of sectarianism. Militant/terrorist? Well, it is a non-violent organisation working to intellectually change society according to the method of the Prophet (saw), it has never taken arms as it contradicts the method of the Prophet (saw) to establish an islamic state.
They are a non-violent islamic party, consisting of elements of both the elite, educated youth, and the middle and the lower classes...and only work for establishment of the Deen through intellectual and political struggle. To put a ban on such a peaceful organization is against common-sense!
Unban Them.Period!
