ATC summons witnesses against Amjad Sabri killers

The court adjourned the hearing of the cases until June 11

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) summoned on Friday more witnesses after recording the statements of five witnesses testifying against the men earlier convicted for killing renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri.

The ATC was hearing the cases pertaining to an explosion during a majlis as well as the murders of a lawyer and a doctor at Karachi Central Jail. The accused, Ishaq Bobby and Asim Capri, were presented in court, while five witnesses also appeared in the hearing.

The court adjourned the hearing of the cases until June 11, after recording the statements of the witnesses and summoned more witnesses to the next hearing.

According to the police, both the convicts have confessed to several murders and attacks. They have also been sentenced to death for Sabri's murder.
