15 arrested in Tarnol search operation

Officials check 90 houses and 165 suspects

ISLAMABAD: At least 15 suspects were arrested as the police, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies conducted a joint operation in Sarai Kharbooza area of Tarnol in the federal capital.

A police spokesperson on Monday said that during the targetted search operation, they checked 90 houses and 165 suspects.

Three motorcycles without proper registration documents were impounded while 15 suspects were shifted to the Tarnol police station for further  Officials of the Islamabad Police, CTF Police, Rescue 15, Special Branch and CID participated in the operation. Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed said that The purpose of the operation was to enhance the security in the federal capital. He directed officers to continue the search operation in their allotted jurisdiction.

He also appealed to citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity or a suspicious person anywhere in their areas to the Islamabad Police.
