Man killed, wife injured while resisting robbers

RAWALPINDI: A man was killed while his wife sustained serious wounds as robbers shot a married couple when they put up resistance.

Police said that the couple, Usman and his wife, were riding on a motorbike to Kallar Sayedan from Rawalpindi when they were intercepted by unidentified armed robbers near Sagri area on the Kallar Syedan road. The robbers attempted to snatch valuables from them. While Usman complied, his wife resisted.

At this, the suspects shot the couple. Usman was killed on the spot while his wife sustained grievous injuries.

The suspects then fled. The police said that the deceased ran a mobile shop in the Shah Bagh area.
