While talking to the provincial ministers Syed Sumsam Bukhari, Malik Asad Khokhar, Nauman Langrial, Sardar Asif Nakai, Sardar MuhammadSibtain Khan, Ghazanfar Abbas along with members on Wednesday, the CM maintained that Pakistan is facing unusual circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic and the parliamentarians should leave no stone unturned to deal with it.
“The government has taken effective steps to deal with coronavirus. More than 107,000 people have been tested for the virus and eight BSL-3 labs have been made functional with an amount of Rs620 million,” he added.
The CM said daily testing capacity of Punjab government has increased to more than 6,000 while around 5,030 people were tested during the last 24 hours.
He said the diagnostic tests capacity will be increased to 10,000 daily as soon as sufficient resources are available to deal with the coronavirus.
“At least 3,086 coronavirus patients have recovered in Punjab and smart sampling has begun in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Faisalabad to conduct tests under different categories,” the CM said.
