On being informed, firefighters arrived at the site of the incident and began the rescue operation initially with two fire tenders. However, they had to call for more fire tenders as well as a snorkel to contain the blaze, shortly after they initiated the rescue operation.
Fire department officials said that the fire erupted in the office of a private logistics company and spread rapidly to engulf other offices on the floor.
Meanwhile, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) managing director Asadullah Khan enforced an emergency at NIPA and Safoora Goth hydrants, from where 10 water tankers were dispatched to douse the fire. It took rescue personnel approximately three hours to extinguish the fire, with uninterrupted water supply via KWSB water tankers.
