Islamabad Police arrest 12 POs, six absconders

The Sabzi Mandi police arrested two offenders wanted in murder and robbery cases.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have apprehended as many as 12 proclaimed offenders (POs) and six court absconders in a special crackdown.

A spokesperson for the Islamabad Police on Monday said that these criminals had been at large and a crackdown was launched on the directives of Operations-DIG Waqaruddin Syed to apprehend them. The spokesperson said that DIG Syed had directed all SDPOs and SHOs to arrest proclaimed offenders.

He said that in raids conducted over the past 24 hours, the industrial area police arrested six proclaimed offenders and three court absconders. The Sabzi Mandi police arrested two offenders wanted in murder and robbery cases. Similarly, the industrial area police nabbed three proclaimed offenders while Noon police station also arrested a proclaimed offender and three court absconders. DIG Syed further directed to continue this ongoing crackdown, saying he will review the performance report of each police station.
