Commissioners, DCs to crack down on profiteers in Sindh

KARACHI: Divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners have been directed to ensure the sale of groceries and other essential items at prices fixed by the Sindh government, according to a statement issued by Special Assistant to the Sindh Chief Minister for the Sindh Bureau of Supply and Prices Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan on Monday.

Jeewan said that a letter had been written to commissioners across the province, ordering them to crack down on profiteers. He further said that the Sindh Bureau of Supply and Prices has been directed to assist the district administrations in controlling prices of essential goods.

This assistance will be provided by 46 employees from the Karachi division, 45 from the Hyderabad division, 14 from the Mirpurkhas division, 21 from the Shaheed Benazirabad division, 26 from the Sukkur division and 24 from the Larkana division.

Jeewan added that a complaint cell has also been set up in this regard. Citizens may register their complaints from 9am until Iftar by calling 02199244608 or emailing bspadprices@gmail.com.
