PESHAWAR:  A man allegedly shot dead his seven-year-old niece in Peshawar's Arbab road locality for "making too much noise".

According to local police, Eshaal was playing with other children in the courtyard two days ago when her uncle Fazal Hayat, who lives upstairs in the same house, opened fire killing the little girl on the spot.

The suspect fled the scene after the tragic incident. However, the video of the incident went viral on social media.

The girl's father has registered an FIR against his brother at Thakal police station and search for the suspect is underway.

Man arrested for killing minor niece

In March, a juvenile court had sentenced a man to serve life in prison apart from fining him Rs0.1 million for sexually abusing his minor niece and forcing her into prostitution.

The court also sentenced the victim’s mother and brother to serve 20 years in prison each for being an accessory to the crime. They were also fined Rs2 million.
