K-P govt to provide ration to deserving journalists

Ajmal Wazir says govt will help media workers get salaries

PESHAWAR: The provincial government would provide ration to deserving media persons and a list in this regard has been prepared.

Adviser to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Information and Public Relation Ajmal Wazir said this during a video link meeting with Federal Minister for Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Wazir said the ration will be delivered at the homes of the deserving media persons. He also informed that steps were being taken for timely salaries of media workers adding that the provincial government has already announced medical assistance for media workers who tested positive for coronavirus.

The provincial government will provide Rs1 million to family members of any media worker died of Covid-19. Media workers have been provided protective gears.

Earlier, the information adviser visited Hayatabad Medical Complex to condole the death of Professor Dr Mohammad Javed who died of coronavirus.

Wazir said has stated that the entire nation commended services of healthcare workers who have been offering medical assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The provincial adviser said that doctors, paramedics and nurses risked their lives in order to save lives of others adding that their services will always be remembered.
