ISLAMABAD: The government will tackle profiteers and hoarders with iron hands if they are found driving up prices during the fasting month of Ramazan.

This was stated by Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul said on Monday.

“No one will be allowed to exploit the prevailing lockdown to earn for profiteering and creating unrest amongst the people,” she said while talking to a news channel.

The minister said that the government is utilising all its resources to cope with the situation. It is an achievement that the government has brought all religious leaders onto one page, she said, adding that the country is fighting the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and poverty at the same time.

Gul hoped that the citizens will continue to follow the advice being issued by the government from time to time to keep the spread of the pandemic in check.
