Pakistan’s Ushna Suhail and her Chinese partner Zixian Zhang lost 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 to Skye Hopper and Yagmur Akgul in the final of the Amman International Tournament II.
The Australian-Turkish pair lost the opening set but the top-seeds were back to their best soon afterwards, clinching the next two to win the tournament.
Pakistan’s national champion and Zhang had defeated the Indian duo of Ambika Pande and Simran Kaur 6-4, 6-3 in the semi-final while the event winners had outplayed Jordanians Lara Aldisa and Jenna Hatamleh 6-2, 6-1 in the other last-four match.
This was Suhail’s first tournament after her two-month training in the US. She practised at the Junior Tennis Champions Centre along with the local players.
