Over 850 policemen deployed for security at cash centres

RPO issues orders to provide face masks and hand gloves to cops

ABBOTTABAD: On the directives of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Hazara Qazi Jameelur Rehman all district police officers (DPO) of the region have deployed 859 policemen at Ehsaas Emergency Cash disbursement centres. RPO Rehman said that the besides security, police should ensure implementation Covid-19 social-distancing directives.

He directed DPOs to make sure the people-to-people distance was maintained during cash distribution at the centres to prevent the spread of the virus.

Rehman issued orders to provide face masks and hand gloves to all policemen performing duty at the cash centres to protect them from contracting Covid-19.

Moreover, all police officials were also directed to provide security, guidance and awareness to people at cash disbursement centres under Ehsaas emergency cash programme about the threat of COVID-19 and also maintain distance between the beneficiaries during the disbursement of cash.

RPO further directed the DPOs to provide hand sanitisers, hand wash stations and clean drinking water at all centres, install CCTV cameras with the cooperation of district administrations to avoid any untoward situation and improve the security of the cash centres.

District Haripur deployed 150 police force including policewomen constables, Abbottabad 94, Manshera 262, Battagram 60, Torghar 51, Lower Kohistan 28, Kolai Palis 24 and Upper Kohistan 190 male and a female police constable were deputed.

Distribution points in Abbottabad district

Government has set up 15 distribution points for Ehsaas Emergency Cash programme to distribute Rs12,000 each to the destitute families in Abbottabad district.

Abbottabad Assistant Commissioner II Ameenul Haq while giving details media told that in first phase, the already registered peoples under Benazir Income Support Programme will be paid the cash assistance.

Payments were started at government girls degree colleges at Nawan Sher, Qalandar Abad, and Harno Aziz Abad, Post Graduate College Abbottabad, Government College of Commerce Women, High School Kuthiala (Sherwan) Government College Nathiagali, Degree College Havelian and other points.

A large number of families female and male received their cash compensation on Friday for which police with office staff of district administration was present at all points.

Local government officials have prepared data of 28,000 daily-wage labourers at union-council level for disbursement of cash assistance said Local Government assistant director, adding that they will be paid after scrutiny.

Moreover, people who got themselves registered as new cases under BISP and Ehsaas are also being checked by the respective department under the mechanism derived by the K-P and federal government and assured the complete transparency is being carried out with speedy work on the verification and then implementation.

Ameenul Haq further said that different departments are working under the directives of district administration which includes Assistant Director Local Government, revenue department and others without any break.

Omer Ayub visits

Federal Minister for Power Omer Ayub Khan on Saturday said that the government was well aware of the problems people were facing in the current situation and taking all possible measures through Ehsaas Emergency Cash programme for 12 million families. He said this while talking to media during his visit to cash payment centres Elementary College and District Councils Haripur at his home constituency.

He stated that the whole process of distribution of money under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program was fully automated and transparent.
