Princess Diana was many things — among them, a connoisseur of fine real estate. Now, we understand why.

According to Christie’s International Real Estate, the late Princess of Wales and her sons Prince William and Prince Harry once vacationed at a property on Casuarina Beach in the Bahamas that the company recently listed for $12.5 million.

The private 4,492 square-foot hideaway, part of the gated community of Lyford Cay, maintains its distance from neighbours on a spacious 1.05 acre lot with direct beach access. There'e also plenty of paparazzi-thwarting shrubbery!

In addition to the 180ft of beach, the property boasts five bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a pool, and outdoor entertaining spaces.

At the time of the Royals’ visit in 1993, the home belonged to Diana’s friend Kate Menzies. In his 2017 memoir, Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe described the community at Lyford Cay as “a development that afforded a great deal of privacy, being part of a huge luxury complex, privately policed and spotlessly maintained.”

Let's take a look as some pictures of the previous Royal escape home, as provided by the website.
