QUETTA: Member Provincial Assembly from Balochistan National Party Sanaullah Baloch on Thursday said people are losing their trust in the government owing to the coronavirus crisis which requires national leadership to sit together and make decisions.

"Opposition members in the provincial assembly have received a letter from the assembly secretariat in response to a request for requisition session, which informs that the meeting cannot take place due to coronavirus outbreak,” Baloch said in a tweet on social media website “In the present situation, it is even more necessary to convene a session of the assembly,” he emphasised.

Meanwhile, responding to a letter written by MPA Baloch, speaker Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo said that he has no objections in calling the assembly session but the current situation is not suitable.

Bizenjo said in the present critical situation, he is not in favour of convening the assembly session.

"My position in this regard is clear that at a time like this, when emergency is imposed across the country, calling the provincial assembly meeting would put lives of hundreds of people, including the MPAs, at risk," he said.

Bizenjo said if the government is taking wrong measures in the eyes of the opposition, then the latter has the right to identify those “flaws”.
