South Africa all-rounder Johan Botha has admitted that although he was disappointed at losing his job as Twenty20 captain, he knew it was coming. AB de Villiers was named the limited-overs captain in June. “The captain must be the first pick in the team and with all the spinners around at the moment it’s difficult to say who the number one is, so I knew it was unlikely I would become captain,” Botha told ESPNcricinfo.
