Careem suspends services in Sindh

Careem said it has taken the step keeping in mind the safety and well-being of its clientele

Ride-hailing service Careem has suspended services in Karachi  until further notice, following Sindh government's lockdown order.

Sindh will be under a 15-day lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Careem said it has taken the step keeping in mind the safety and well-being of its clientele.

Airlift suspends services in Karachi, Lahore amid coronavirus outbreak

"The safety and well-being of all those who use Careem is a priority for us, especially during these difficult times. In accordance with directives received from the Government of Sindh(GoS) following the outbreak of COVID-19, Careem would urge all our captains and customers to be community-minded and abide by the government’s directives to stay indoors and exercise caution.

In accordance with these directives from the GoS, Careem is temporarily suspending its services in the province of Sindh, effective 12am, March 23, 2020 till further notice."

Earlier, mass transit startup, Airlift has decided to temporarily suspend its services as the number of COVID-19 cases rise in Pakistan.





Airlift shut down its services till April 6, 2020.
