Airlift suspends services in Karachi, Lahore amid coronavirus outbreak

Mass transit startup, Airlift has decided to temporarily suspend its services as the number of COVID-19 cases rise in Pakistan.

Airlift has shut down its services till April 6, 2020. As a public service company, Airlift wants to take action to help prevent spread of coronavirus, it said in a statement.

“It is crucial to follow preventive measures as directed by the health authorities to protect yourself and everyone around you. Wash hands frequently, avoid public places and practice social isolation, so that everyone can return to normal routines soon enough and in perfect health.

Globally too, public transportation has been declared high-risk as people to people contact is more probable. Keeping that in mind, Airlift has decided to put the health of citizens above profitable gains.”
