According to a notification issued by the office of Khairpur deputy commissioner, it was found that the officials – none of whom were wearing protective gear – took a selfie with a resident of Kotdiji taluka in Khairpur, who had recently returned from Iran and tested positive for COVID-19. Hence, they are to be suspended immediately and, along with the COVID-19 patient, are to be quarantined for at least 14 days.
The orders are to be carried out by the Khairpur district health officer, who has also been instructed to carry out any medical procedures required for the screening and treatment of the officials immediately.
