Talking on the Hollywood Raw podcast, Rex laid bare claims that a tabloid offered him $70,000 to lie about "hooking up" with Markle, who eventually married Prince Harry to become the Duchess of Sussex.

"I said no to a lot of money because I didn't feel right lying and f--king up the royal f--king family. It was a lot of money, man. I think they offered me like $70,000," he said.
He went on to mention how the most the two hung out was on the sets and once for lunch - and that's about it. "Nothing happened. We never even kissed. We hung out once in a very non-datey way," explained the Scary Movie 2 actor.

However, these claims don't quite match up to his earlier statements in 2018 where he said that the two failed to meet up for a second date because of a bad first kiss. "When I started kissing her it was obvious that I had garlic breath," he had said, in a rather TMI comment.
In a stark change of words, he now says, "She was just someone I had met on a TV show."
It seems like the royals' legal battle with The Mail on Sunday is not all in vain and quite informed actually, since Rex's comments may serve as a proof of how the press deliberately tried to malign Markle's reputation.
