Sme sector: Thai delegation discusses ventures

LAHORE: A ten-member Thai trade delegation discussed the scope of joint ventures in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) at the Smeda head office on Tuesday. The delegates observed that Pakistan has abundance of natural resources, supplemented by plenty of raw materials and agriculture produces and it can bring prosperity to its people by proper exploitation of these resources through modern technologies. They identified fields of agro-food processing, gems and jewellery, textile, livestock, fisheries and marine aquaculture for joint ventures between the two countries and offered Smeda to initiate a serious follow-up of this direction in collaboration with the local Thai Embassy.
