Fines imposed on shopkeepers

A fine of Rs120,000 was collected on the spot from the shopkeepers found guilty of overpricing, hoarding

SARGODHA: Assistant Commissioner Umer Daraz Gondal imposed fines on several shopkeepers on violation of the Price Control Act in the city on Thursday. The official visited various markets and found irregularities at 40 shops.

A fine of Rs120,000 was collected on the spot from the shopkeepers found guilty of overpricing and hoarding. The AC said the crackdown on overcharging and hoarding would continue in Sargodha district to protect the rights of consumers and ensure price control in the markets.
