Ministry reduces govt tourist lodges rent

The Standing Committee on Housing had directed the ministry concerned to review the rents.

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Housing has reduced the rent of government tourist lodges for the government officers.

The rent of single room in Kasar-e-Naz Karachi and Chamba House Lahore has been reduced from Rs3,750 to Rs2,500 while rate of suite has been fixed at Rs5,000 from Rs7,500.

The rent of Federal Lodges Quetta has also come down, while the charges of Federal Lodges Peshawar remained the same.

The facility will be available for entitled officers only, while other officers will have to pay more than 30% of the determined rates.

The rate of single room in Federal Lodges Quetta has been reduced from Rs2,500 to Rs1,870 while charges of family suites have been brought down from Rs4,500 to Rs3,750.

The Standing Committee on Housing had directed the ministry concerned to review the rents.
