This was directed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday while presiding over a meeting held to review progress made on development projects outlined for the Swat district under the Annual Developmental Programme (ADP) of the ongoing fiscal year 2019-20.
During the meeting, he was briefed about the progress made on uplift projects in Swat. He was told that projects in the health, education, irrigation, agriculture, public health engineering, tourism, sports, and road development sectors are underway.
The meeting was further informed that a campus for the Peshawar Agriculture University has been completed in the Takhtaband area for Rs0.5 billion. The campus is expected to be inaugurated soon.
Other development projects earmarked for Swat include the construction of the Matta Tehsil Municipal Administration Complex, renovation of Basic Health Units (BHUs) in Shahwar and Darnami, the establishment of a divisional food and drug testing laboratory, three comprehensive health units, upgrading the Kabal Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, the establishment of a pediatric hospital, establishment of the Swat Women’s University, Matta Burns and Trauma Centre, colleges in Wanai, Bagh Dherai and Saidu Sharif areas, renovation of the Swat district jail, installation of solar panels at mosques, widening and black-topping of a 16-kilometre Sakhra-Gabbin Jabba Road, construction and black-topping of the 35-kilometre Manglawar-Malam Jabba road, provision of gas to Khawzakhela, and Matta areas of the district.
The chief minister directed to approve schedules of new expenditures (SNEs), project concepts-I (PC-I) and summaries of development schemes from the relevant forums.
