When the workers of Jang Group protested, they, including Muhammad Nadeem Chaudhry, were fired from their jobs.
The statement came in light of Mir Shakilur Rehman's arrest. The owner of the Jang and Geo group was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday after he failed to satisfy the investigation team on a 26-pointer questioner over 'illegally' obtaining 54 plots from former prime minister Nawaz Sharif when he was the Punjab chief minister in 1986.
According to the leader of the Jang Workers Group, Muhammad Nadeem Chaudhry, he fought a legal battle with Rahman and substantial development in the case took place during the tenure of the Pakistan Peoples Party. “But very skilfully Rahman took away the 54-acre land from the workers.”
“When the legal battle began during the first tenure of Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister, the case was reopened but as Rahman had cordial ties with Nawaz the case was closed,” said Chaudhry.
